Not For Broadcast - Troubleshooting

Not For Broadcast contains a lot of video, all being played and edited simultaneously. So sometimes players can have trouble getting the game to play nice.

Here’s some steps to try.

First, please ensure your graphics drivers are up to date.

Steamdeck Users

Not For Broadcast is not officially supported on steamdeck - however if you wish to play it - we reccomend you use Proton GE. Follow the steps listed here:

Crashes/Performance Issues - NVIDIA Users

  1. Open NVIDIA Control Panel

  2. Go to "Manage 3D Settings"

  3. Switch "Vertical sync" under Global Settings from "Fast" to "Use the 3D application setting"

  4. Disable G-Sync if you are using it.

Videos Not Working? - Install Codecs

Try installing the K Lite Codec Pack.

Some players have found that this allows the videos to play.

BE CAREFUL TO MAKE SURE YOU ARE DOWNLOADING A LEGITIMATE CODEC PACK.

Download and Install Windows Media Feature Pack

Download Windows Media Feature Pack Here
Some Windows installations don't include the Media Feature pack which includes the codecs you'll need to see the videos properly. So make sure you have that installed too.

Alternate Video Branch

You can also try a version of the game where the videos are provided in a different format.
This can help when videos are not playing, or freezing on your system.

  1. Right click on Not For Broadcast in your Steam library and click 'Properties'

  2. Select the 'Betas' tab

  3. Under the drop-down menu select alternatevideo

  4. Once the game is updated it will be ready to launch
